Island Escapade Tour Coron, Philippines – 22 March 2023

I’m finally picked up at 8.37am on Wednesday 22 March 2023 to go on the Island Escapade Tour with Vale, Enrico and Delia.

It’s a short drive to the harbour. Slightly crazy when we arrive but we get there in the end and are told to get onto the boat.

Our guide for the day gets everyone’s attention then announces what the plan is. Within seconds Vale is speaking up saying we are on the wrong tour. Ooh my!

After a few minutes we are getting off the boat and straight into a tuk tuk which takes us a couple of minutes down the wharf.

Walking over and through 2 boats is a bit of a pain, especially with all the people around. When we arrive at our boat it’s full. This will be fun!! They make room for us.

Before we depart the wharf our guide tells us it’s 1.5 to 2 hours ride to the first island – Banana Island.

On arrival it’s straight into the water and snorkelling.

It’s a slow wet ride to our next stop – Coco Beach. Even though there are 3 other boats already here it seems super peaceful.

It’s nice to get off the boat!

After a short wander around its lunchtime.

Post lunch we have time to enjoy the small island.

Back onto the back and onto our next stop – Malcapuya Island. We have to park the boat on one side then walk a few minutes up then down a slope to get to the beach. Wow! It’s stunning!! And I know the photos won’t do it justice.

The water is crystal clear, you can see lots of fishes! And nice and warm. Bliss. A shame we aren’t here for longer than one hour. As we pulled up the guide told us it’s like Boracay, I guess I’ll need to go there to see myself.

Unfortunately it’s time to leave. Nooooooo.

When we get back onto the other side of the slope we notice either the tide has gone out or the boat was taken back. Either way it’s too far to walk to the boat and we notice from other boats walking that it also quite deep (especially for us vertically challenged people).

In the end Vale, myself and some else on our boat are put into a small boat and pushed over. Door to door service!

Hard to believe the tour is basically done. I feel like we are just getting going.

Thankfully it’s a smoother and quicker trip back to Coron Harbour.

On arrival we have to climb over two other boats to get out, at least no people!

On firmer terra are put into vans to take us to our hotels. Mine is the last stop.

It’s been a great but long day. The Philippines really is stunning!!!
