The SJ train (yes that's right a train named after me….) departs Stockholm Central Station for Oslo Central Station 1 minute early at 6.01am on Tuesday 24 October. I’m sitting backwards so it’s going to be a fun 5 hour journey…..
Oddly (or perhaps not as well) no one comes to ask for my ticket.
Time seems to be passing by nearly as quickly as we are going (at times over 170 km per hour). As part of my ticket I get free coffee and a breakfast box (juice and cheese and tomato bread roll).
I see night turn into day, the sun coming out and people starting their day. It’s great to be able to see more of Sweden. Photos are on a separate blog.
I have the seat next to me free for the first 1.5 hours, then he leaves again after an hour.
Norway
9.43am we cross the border into Norway - the sunshine has absolutely run away!
At 11.06am an announcement is made telling us we are about to go into a 14km long tunnel and Oslo Central Station is 10 minutes away. Woo hoo!
