Athens, Greece - September 20-21 and Roma, Italia, Roma - September 21-22 2010

I was amazed at how busy the boat was, as it was a Monday (September 20) I honestly thought it wound have been basically empty - not today thanks. On arrival into Athens I decided to ask the lady next to me about getting a taxi. She was extremely helpful and said she walks about 5 minutes to get a taxi as they are cheaper on the street than outside the boat.....so off I went with her.

Got into a taxi and within a couple of minutes knew the taxi driver was ripping me off with the fare - my blood was boiling, I find it unbelievable what taxi drivers do to tourists! On arrival into the hotel I tried to give him the lest amount of money in the hope I'd get change....alas no change. Grrr bloody taxis!

Finally into my room at 11.30pm, it had been a long day!

Tuesday I was up early, I'd been advised last night that breakfast is over at 9.30am so decided to head down around 8.30am, had to give myself 30 minutes to actually wake up!! After breakfast I had an hour at the pool sun bathing then chilled out in my room. For some reason I felt like I'd been hit by a truck - have no energy and just want to sleep. It was two months yesterday since I left HK and am thinking perhaps that's my limit when travelling. Am hoping once I'm back in Italia things will change.

The hotel has two PC's to use, which is super nice given you have to pay for internet access. I decided I needed to research how I get to my hotel tonight. Wholly smoke and all that goes with that - my hotel is a good 40 minutes from the centre of Roma. What the hell was I thinking when I booked it, clearly I wasn't thinking at all. What a buggar, it means another expensive taxi ride rather than public transport. Buggar buggar and more buggar. Right need to make sure the
hotel in Sorrento (which is the only place I haven't booked yet) isn't on the other side of the country. I will most definitely not be staying in the place I'm staying tonight next week, thank goodness I haven't already booked it!

Time to get out for a walk I think to calm me down. I have a couple of hours until I need to head to the airport. To save me running around like a headless chicken later I walked to the metro, this way I'm all set for the actual event.

I noticed Carrflour (supermarket) and headed in, I had heard lots about this company but never been into one, yes this is the touristy thing I did today - very sad I know, but hey that's me. For those of you that know me super well I'm already excited about visiting the supermarkets in London.

While I'd had a good time in Greece I was looking forward to getting out of here.

Walked around looking for somewhere to eat, all I saw were lots of coffee shops full with men - what a great life! In the end headed back to the hotel, knew at least I'd get food even if it would be more expensive than out on the street...........wherever the places were.

Had an easy walk to the station, well ok made it look like it was easy and my bag wasn't heavy....yeah right. Luckily the subway was right there so no waiting, I couldn't get over how busy it was. Went four stops then changed over to the airport line, here I had to wait 30 minutes for the train. Time passed by quickly though as there was so much comings and goings.

Made it to the airport in what seemed like no time, having something to occupy your time really does help.

Checked in and within minutes was set, couldn't get over how quick it was. Fingers crossed the plane will depart on time today. I had a mission and a half when I get to Roma so arriving on time will help thanks very much.

I had a wander around the airport then headed to the gate. The airport had free wifi which was brilliant - Greece you have just gone up in my book.

The flight to Roma left a little late but we arrived early which was nice. Had a bit of a mere getting to the hotel, I really stuffed up with booking this place! I need to be more careful next time I book a hotel!

Finally arrived and I don't even have 12 hours here, crazy! Got a few hours sleep then up to do it all over again. After breakfast (on 21 September) off I headed, into the centre to take my train to Naples.
