Spent 9 nights in Lombok – didn’t leave the hotel for the first 4 days. Slept, read, exercised, swam and repeated. Heaven!
Met a British lady on my flight (from Singapore) who lives in Lombok and was returning home after giving birth to her third child. I helped her off the plane with all her belongings. Her husband and 2 girls were at the airport to pick her up. They kindly offered me a ride to my hotel. For some strange reason I hadn’t sorted out transport nor looked up how to get from the airport to the hotel so it worked out well! As I put my seat belt on her husband (local) told me I didn’t need to wear it in Indonesia. Strange feeling. They definitely don’t have the same requirements for children in car seats like NZ does.
A few days later I saw them at the hotel as her brother was visiting from Singapore.
They kindly took me back to the airport. I left them my 9 books I’d brought to read.
